Tristan Beck: Neither Can Live While The Other Survives...

WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERS

Based on a true story, 'Beck and Howell' is possibly the greatest 'Love-hate relationship' film of the last few decades of film or (in this critic's opinion) the whole of the last century. We see Tristan Beck and Meredith Howell - two of the heroes of the 'Seven Covens' - go from fighting each other to loving each other in the most heartwarming and strange way.

The film takes stunning twists and turns, but I did not see Abigail's death coming AT ALL, and then when Tristan fakes his death, you can truly feel for Meredith in her cell while waiting for The Hammer to let her go as Tristan waits in kind outside.

The climax of the film though is truly heartwrenching though. After being lulled into a false sense of security with business as usual as Tristan and Meredith keep fighting and loving, the moment when a grinning Tristan plunges a knife straight into Meredith's heart had me in tears, only compounded upon by the his realisation of what he's done, and the emptiness of his life that follows, and as the credits roll there's not a dry eye in the audience.”

“10/10 - an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish. And to think that this really happened… I'm not sure who I feel for more out of Tristan or Meredith - so sad!”
