“Following the final of the meetings known as 'The Seven Covens' - ranging from the Doubleday Incident to the aftermath of the Nether Crisis - Melissa Hendrick joined her brother Garth in travelling the world as soon as travel restrictions were lifted by the Government.
While abroad, the cultures she experienced and magics she discovered greatly influenced her Protective skills, indeed reports have it that she mastered protective aeromancy under the teaching of a wise monk living in the mountains of China shortly before being chased from the village by an angry mob.
Upon finishing her travels, Melissa began volunteering at The Royal London Hospital where magic was being properly integrated into the medical treatment people received, and studied part time until she received a full nursing qualification and entered full time employment.
Nurse Melissa Hendrick was particularly influential in the running of The Royal London Hospital's Magic Ward, a ward dedicated to healing magic user and non-magic user alike. As time progressed and negative attitudes toward magic became more and more outdated, Hendrick was able to use her mastery of the protection magics to save countless lives that would have otherwise been lost, and is truly a hero of the Hospital.
What happened to her 'sister', Mel, was never fully determined, but experts argue that perhaps Melissa wouldn't be where she is today if it weren't for the knowledge she acquired from her other self before getting rid of her, and Melissa is still invaluable for dealing with patients suffering from schizophrenia, recounting her own experiences to help others.”
