Henwyn Lincoln: Healer and Friend

Henwyn Lincoln, widely respected magical healer and HMMR tutor, died today at the age of 92. Henwyn was found on the houseboat she spent much of her life on by her sister Nell Lincoln of the Magic Sphere.

Henwyn Lincoln was forever practical, yet positive, about the use of magic in society, post-Doubleday. She endeavoured to change the attitudes of HMMR members from the inside, and in the process reduce the enmity felt between the policing organisation and many members of the magical community. Henwyn was devoted to education, and gave frequent lectures at Jacob Wintersmith’s academy on the subjects of magical healing, protection and Sanguimancy. She also headed up a unit within HMMR devoted to monitoring and regulating sanguimancy, convinced that due to the unique aspects of the art it offered a considerable threat if not regulated.

Henwyn’s use of sanguimancy and hydromancy in the healing arts led to many breakthroughs, including the ability to bringing people safely out of comas, new and better ways of stabilising patients during dangerous surgeries, and new techniques which allowed limb and organ transplants with a close to 100% success rate.

Henwyn was also praised as a diplomatic link between the magical and non-magical communities. Her universal desire to help and heal people made her popular amongst both wytches and norms, and as such her calls for cooperation and understanding were well-received.

On a personal note, Henwyn was also a close life-long friend of mine, who led me out of many dark places. Although I cannot hope to repay the debt I owed her, I will still endeavour to try by continuing her legacy. Her friends, family and admirers will miss her always.
